So I got a new hat

Hey guys! So I've finally given into to my recent hat addiction and got a new cashmere beanie! I'm actually wearing it right now haha -- it's insanely soft and cosy. I can't wait to wear it when I visit the UK this year in December at the end of the year! So as you've been following me in my count downs to the end of exams, just wanted to say that tomorrow is the last day of exams aghghgdhgsfkjh finally! :) If anyone does live in the UK, do drop a comment and recommend me some lovely places to go to! I'd love to discover the UK in a less "tourist" way! I'm going to Stratford upon Avon, Stonehenge, Bath, Salisbury and London, and I'm very excited for December to come!

I've even planned to go to the Harry Potter studios, so I'm looking forward to that since I'm a big fan of Harry Potter. 

I made a few "winter-inspired" (?), more cosy sets that I dream of wearing to London (these aren't that good for fighting the cold though but I thought putting an ugly michelin man down jacket would be a bit of a killer for the look), but have yet to acquire - and probably never will...

Sharing with you all the RED Valentino fall/winter collection for this year as I think it's so beautiful and whimsical -- very dreamy and girly. I especially love the detailing of the clothes (as are all the lovely Valentino collections) and I just admire how this whole campaign was put together. Though the backdrop is simple and definitely much more cost-saving, it works and it's just so perfect and pretty, giving the whole collection a very magical quality about it. 

In fact, this collection and its concept really reminded me of Sasha's campaign with Prada all the way back in 2008 (spring/summer), with the nymphs and fairies serving as both a backdrop and the pattern for the clothes in the collection. I love those collections that incorporate drawings and sketches into the clothes, it really does give the clothes a very earthly and raw feel to them, like the designer used the piece of clothing as a blank canvas not just to sculpt but to draw on as well.

Today was a really great day for me. I had a good session in church today where I got to present and share with the class! My entire family left me to go on holidays, since I'm still having exams till Friday so I've got to stay home :( 

In the evening, my grandparents came over to take me out and I had such a wonderful time spending time with them - eating shabu shabu and talking about old times. I also dropped by Topshop after dinner while they went grocery shopping and bought this little dainty yet statement necklace. I really love how it can match with anything, or complete a look and I'm so excited to wear it out!

With my last three papers in two days, I'm currently lying on my bed watching Gossip Girl season four reruns (I deserve to be punished).

10/11/12: thrift finds

Today I went to the thrift store and I found some pretty things! I am very pleased with what I picked up today, especially the fairy music box! When you wind the back clockwise, the fairy will move around because there's a magnet behind. It's very magical and I'm so glad I found it on the top dusty shelf :)

I'm very excited to work on my new navy blue dress as well. Thinking of bringing the hem up to my knees (it is pretty long) and sewing big gold buttons two rows along the top area - maybe it shall be my holiday project for this year before Christmas (p.s: I'm so excited for Christmas, especially with Starbucks starting to sell the special drinks and play Christmas music)

The peach/nude shoulder bag that I got was also a good find, because apparently it's a vintage piece by Rudolf Valentino and I remember reading about him in my history book as he was a famous actor in the USA 1920s.

Have a wonderful weekend ahead! Last week of exams to go and then I shall be free to relax without regret.

I've only got Additional Maths, Econs MCQ and Science MCQ left, so technically it's practically over.

Working on my post and interview with Ben Giles, a tribute to Nicholas Ghesquiere as well as a post featuring my art pieces so hopefully I'll get those done.
