Update

It's been a while since I've updated here. I've been drowned under the rapid surge of the exam sea - there're so many things to do and not enough time to do everything I want to.

This blog post shall just be a short one of the most miscellaneous things:
1) Along with managing school work, revision, uni apps, there's still the dread of finding a prom dress. I think I found one.
2) Just discovered an immense love for frozen watermelons - probably due to my long-term relationship with popsicles and all those sorts of icy stuff. It's really simple as well, just cut your watermelon up into tiny triangles, stick a fork in and put 'em in the freezer for about a day or less. Try it!
Here's me and sister hand-modelling for these on my Instagram. I miss her loads - she recently left us to study in the UK! Despite weekly Skypes, it doesn't feel the same. I have successfully dominated her room though, and have taken on her identity in old PJs and forgotten things she didn't take over there (not in a creepy way)! Can't wait for us to reunite at the end of the year at Christmas.

3) And talking so much about studying, I found I work best when listening to calm music, sipping hot coffee in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (I think they know my name already… I've been going way too often) and working on essays to hand in. Here are two playlists which I've made that I like to listen to when my brain is working like a machine - also a good way to relax after!

Have a lovely week! :)

Music: Sweater Weather Playlist

Today I went to watch Maleficent and boy was Angelina Jolie perfection! She looked so beautiful and strong despite playing a supposed "villain" and her acting was definitely top notch - as well as the production! It was a beautiful film, definitely advocating the right values (a little tired after repeating it from Frozen though, almost makes me feel like they're capitalizing on it but it probably wasn't their intent), and the sets and animation were breathtaking - definitely made it realistic and otherworldly. I personally feel she made the show though - can't picture anyone else doing a better job than she did, honestly.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see the familiar face of  Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter's Dolores Umbridge Pink Fanatic) and also the appearance of Angelina's daughter!
So, if you happen to be free, do go and watch this amazing film, I highly recommend it!
Also, here's a playlist I made inspired by the gloomy voice of Lana Del Rey crooning out the famous tune from Disney's age old Sleeping Beauty as the credits rolled - her rendition was absolutely chilling. Enjoy and follow if you'd like!
Have a great weekend :)

If You're Losing Sleep

a hiaku about being sick:
stuck in bed all day
need to get well soon or else
work shall swallow me

i finally got my film developed from laneway! tried out a new film developing store and am pretty pleased with the results :)
laneway was absolutely amazing, one of the best days ever! it was my first time ever attending one and although it was crowded and hot, the atmosphere and live music was just perfect.
(i should have put more sunscreen though)

Update!

hey there!
sorry i haven't been posting regularly (and for ages) - i've been really busy with my end-of-year exams, procrastination, and i'm currently on an internship, which is really exciting!
i really can't wait for the december holidays when i can finally kick back and sit around and do nothing (with a free conscience)... plus christmas is right around the corner.

shall attempt to write a list of things i love about christmas one day, it's my favourite season and time of the year - i don't know why but there's this air about it that makes everything so happy for no reason whatsover.

anyway, a little but extremely extremely exciting piece of news i'd like to share with you all -
i got featured in dreamers journal, which is a new lovely online magazine which is put together by some of the sweetest people! here's a sneak peek of what's to come:

plus, i'd like to share this video i stumbled across of one of my singers, florence welch. her voice is absolute perfection - and i love how it's not altered or anything in her album, her voice is her voice, which is absolutely flawless.

till next time

Music: Arctic Monkeys

i wouldn't say i'm a die hard fan of arctic monkeys - apart from the fact that i do love a few of their songs like teddy picker, i bet you look good on the dance floor and of course the favourite - florescent adolescent, but i'd just like to share their *new* song "do i wanna know":
hot damn, it's such a good song?!?! i love the consistent bass line (i actually love any song with a consistent tune) and it just feels, to me, very different from a normal arctic monkeys song... definitely much more laid back. i can just imagine this song being the tune to a mafia gangster film.
i'm going to try to share more music on my blog, since i've kind of given up on 8tracks because it takes aaaages to load a mixtape up and even after waiting so many tracks have errors! i don't know why and whether it's just happening to me but it annoys me quite a bit!

to end off, i'd like to share this video i just saw of honestly the cuuutest boy on the planet, kai. can i just kidnap him home please?

Oh, don't you want to know, is it any easier?

I must say the iPhone's camera quality is rather good! Mini Cornettos are so fun to eat - the best bit would definitely be the cone stuffed with chocolate. Haha, today's a rainy day and it's really cosy just lying in bed in a fetal position and typing this simultaneously. Currently downloading music and getting ready to go out!
Happy Valentines' Day by the way! Going to head out later to meet my friends for lunch and then going to the orthodontist's - spending valentines' day alone, but with good teeth......?

This is a shot I took yesterday as well, when I was sitting outside my house doing some History. It's so much more productive, and yesterday was a lovely day - windy and sunny at the same time, and the birds were chirping (sounds a little cliché and cheesy but yes). Okay, that was until it suddenly started to pour and I had to EMERGENCY RUN back into the house with all my books in tow.

Here are some links to share with you should you be bored with your life like I am:

Happy Lunar New Year's Eve!

In photo: Valentina Eau De Parfum spray 30ml/1oz, The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera

So today I'm spending my Saturday morning lazily for once, instead of always having to get up early for my service project. And I savored this luxury by indulging myself with pancakes and melted cheese (goodbye skinny love nothing happened here).

It's also sad to say how I've been wasting my life away watching reruns of tv shows that have ended. I've been watching Gossip Girl for the entire week and I've almost finished an entire season, which is pretty worrying!
Today's the eve of Chinese New Year and I'm half half so so about the whole festivities this year. It'll be nice to catch up with my extended family again, as well as eat the really good food. But tomorrow I'm going to be out for the whole day, visiting one house to the next in the heat, praying that I shall survive till Monday!

Currently reading Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness Of Being and I'm just in love with it. Though I'm only starting the book but it's just so beautifully written and I'm not sure but at my angle I feel it's very psychological and analyses so much of ourselves in the characters and it's just so relatable as well as enigmatic. I really cannot wait to make a trip down to the bookstore to find more Kundera reads! Are there any books which you would recommend me read as well? What are your favourite books? (I think one day I shall write a list of my favourite reads to share with everyone)

I hope everyone's having a lovely weekend. Really ecstatic we got an entire week off from school - it's been so busy and I just feel so weighed down. Been coming home and knocking out as soon as I touch my bed, unintentionally! Proud to say last night I stayed up until 2 a.m. finishing my Chemistry IA so I don't have to think about it the entire week!

Thought I would share a "quaint" little song with you all to listen to and start your weekends off:

So now I'll never explore

Just using this post as an excuse for not revising for maths and econs tomorrow (agh econs is one of my worst subjects ever!!)
Just wanted to say that the XX's songs are one of the best to revise and do work to -- really calms my mind down.
Okay, I shall go back to my revision for the daunting day tomorrow.

And meanwhile,

Rivulets flow from your eyes as your lungs crystallize

Vlada Roslyakova by Horst Diekgerdes
Numéro 2008

Thought I'd share this lovely editorial with you. Vlada is one of my favourite models and she reminds me of a porcelain doll, especially in these photos. I especially love the first photo, it's absolutely breathtaking. I'll be going ice skating this Friday, my last day of the holidays, so I thought this post would be pretty apt!
For those who would like some music to accompany this post/your daily shindigs, click here for perfection.

I'll travel the sub-zero tundra
I'll break glaciers and frozen lakes
And that's just the tip of the iceberg
I'll do whatever it takes to change

Farewell powdery paradise
We'd rather skate on the thinnest ice
Fingers failed us before they froze
Frostbite bit down on all our toes

Snow drifts build up and enfold us
As we wait in this winter storm
So we snuggle close in the darkness
And keep each other so warm

Tomorrow you'll still be here, no matter where your dreams will take you

These past few days, I've come across many times images of a lovely lilac haired girl with pink translucent circle spectacles called Ellen. Her style is so sweet and pastel and I thought I'd share some photographs of her with you! These photographs are taken by the wonderful Rebekah Seok, of whom takes absolutely amazing photos, do check her photo stream out! x

Just a little update: my recent four-day Hong Kong trip over the weekend was very fun, and I promise I'll have the photos up soon! (Brace yourselves for some subtle food porn though)
Meanwhile, a song for you to listen to as we get through the hot and humid summer days:

Have a great week ahead!☺
